Cecil Sharp's People
Development of a tool for researching Cecil Sharp's informants.
Writer and Biographer David Sutcliffe has curated well over 700 profiles of the performers (musicians, singers and dancers) that informed Cecil Sharp between 1903 and 1923.
We were commissioned to build a website to serve as a research tool for this data. The user can search the entries, browse the entire directory or see performers from a particular area.
The project has been well received by the English Folk Dance and Song Society as well as the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library who have started to establish links between entries in their catalogue and the perfomers in this catalogue.
